(There is more detail on some of the products available from the ‘information sheets’ page on this site).

Sand & other media filtration systems

The ultimate in on-site wastewater treatment. In areas not covered by reticulated sewage system, property owners generally have in the past been reliant on the traditional and often unreliable septic tank and soakage field systems or on some form of mechanical aeration plant.

Natural sand filtration systems have long been recognized as having the ability to treat wastewater to a very high standard with extremely low maintenance.

The development of the Reflection Intermittent Sand Filter (ISF) for householders, the Recirculating Sand Filter (RSF) for large commercial and multiple dwellings and the exciting new Recirculating Media Filters (RMF) provides clear options for the most advanced on-site wastewater treatment systems available. The treated water quality of < 5 B.O.Ds and suspended solids plus low maintenance makes Reflection Australia’s No#1 choice for quality wastewater treatment.

Small Residential “WW” Effluent Filter – Zoeller  P/N 170-0078

APPLICATION:         Single Family Homes.

FILTER AREA:          122 Linear feet of 1/16″ filtration.

FLOW RATE:             1,000 gpd.

The Zoeller “WW” residential filter gives your septic system protection like no other. Zoeller Company’s patented design keeps your lateral fields safe with twice the filtration area of most residential filters. All of the filtration area is in the effluent, making the filter 100% effective. The best feature of the “WW” filter is that the sleeve section of the filter remains in the outlet tee when the main filter is removed for servicing. This will guarantee no solids larger than 1/16″ reaches the lateral fields. The Zoeller “WW” filter is ultimate protection.

Easy to install or retrofit:

The Zoeller Septic System Filter fits inside any 4″ sanitary tee. Slide the filter cartridge into the filter sleeve. Lock the cartridge and sleeve together by holding the sleeve stationary and rotating the cartridge clockwise. Slide the assembled cartridge and sleeve into the sanitary tee at the tank’s outlet. Ensure the sleeve latch is pointing towards the outlet of the septic tank before filter placement into the tee. The drain field is now protected from solids greater than 1/16″

Allows only the clearest effluent from leaving the tank: Located in the sanitary tee, this filter extends beneath the scum layer, above the sludge layer, and withdraws effluent from the clear-water zone of the tank.

Lowers maintenance costs:

The filter can be serviced on a periodic basis by the homeowner to maintain peak performance. Under normal circumstances, the filter only requires servicing when the septic tank is pumped. A Zoeller Riser & Lid will make septic tank and filter maintenance an easy task.

Allows the homeowner to monitor the condition of the tank:

During routine maintenance, the tank should be inspected to be sure unnecessary particulate is not getting into your tank (i.e. fruit peelings, cigarette filters, feminine hygiene materials, etc.). Check your local plumbing codes to determine how often your tank should be pumped. If sludge buildup becomes apparent on the bottom of your tank, then a more frequent pumping interval is suggested.

Also available with sanitary tee and filter complete – 170-0144.

Lifetime Warranty: Every Zoeller filter is guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the homeowner/purchaser. Free repair or replacement, excluding labor, will be made on return of the filter prepaid to the factory. This warranty is limited to product proven to be free from abuse or improper installation.

4000 RCW series wastewater distributing valve- K-RAIN

The 4000 RCW Series of distributing valves offers a reliable, economical way to automate multiple zoned residential and small commercial wastewater systems. The simplicity of design and a minimum of moving parts ensures ease of maintenance and long service life.

These patented valves allow for the number of watering zones to be changed quickly and easily. They are ideally suited for pump applications, onsite wastewater or effluent water applications.

The 4000 RCW valve is available in 4 or 6 outlet models. A quick change of the cam allows the valve to operate from 2 to 6 zones. The valve will operate with flows as low as 10 GPM and at pressures of 2.5-75 PSI.

6000 RCW series wastewater distributing valve- K-RAIN

The 6000 RCW Series line of distributing valves offers exceptional reliability and durability even under the dirtiest water conditions. With a metal die-cast body, the 6000 RCW series valves are capable of high pressure applications and are recommended to be used on pump fed systems. The 6000 RCW series is ideal for onsite wastewater and effluent water applications.

The 6000 RCW valve is available in 4 or 6 outlet models that are cammed for 2 to 6 zone operation. With only one moving part (the stem and the disk assembly), the valve is easily serviced and maintained.

The valve requires at least 15 GPM to operate and works at pressures from 2.5 to 150 PSI for flows to 100 GPM.

Fluid Dynamics Automatic Siphons

As many engineering studies and extensive field tests indicate, continuous discharge from the septic tank should be avoided. Continuous discharge causes the distribution to be limited to a few areas within the absorption field resulting in an overloading of the infiltrative surface in these areas. In order to maintain the infiltrative capacity of the soil, alternate periods of loading and resting of the leaching system should be provided. An inexpensive and trouble – free method of acheiving this solution is by using a dosing tank together with an Automatic Dosing Siphon.

What the Siphon Does

The automatic siphon system stores liquid in a tank until a certain elevation of the liquid is reached (the high water line), then the siphon automatically comes into operation and rapidly drains the tank to the low water line.

When the low water line is reached, the siphon shuts off and stops the flow of liquid. All liquid coming into the tank will again be stored until the high water line is reached and the siphon repeats the cycle. This is accomplished with no moving parts. The siphon operates on the hydraulic forces of the liquid rising in the dosing tank.

The primary use of the Automatic Siphon is to dose leach fields, sand filters, low pressure and other soil absorption systems. They may also be used to maintain minimum water velocities to insure proper scouring action of the liquid in the pipe lines. Alternating siphons are frequently used to direct effluent flow to different locations.
